Rokk í Reykjavík LP was first released in 1982, shortly after the film premiered the same year.

It was originally issued as a double LP by Gramm Records, featuring performances by many of Iceland’s emerging punk and new wave bands of the early 1980s — including Tappi Tíkarrass, Purrkur Pillnikk, Þeyr, Fræbbblarnir, Egó, and others.

It’s more than an album, Rokk í Reykjavík is a document of a revolution.
Recorded at the height of Iceland’s underground uprising, it remains a cornerstone of our modern sound.
This remastered edition celebrates that legacy — raw, vital, and unforgotten.

The album that defined a generation — now reborn on vinyl in original cover.

„Annar Dagur“ geymir 21 lag, allt nýjar upptökur;
1:  8 elstu lög sveitarinnar sem aldrei voru gefin út.
2:  9 endurgerð lög af  LP plötu Jonee Jonee, Svonatorrek frá 1982 sem misheppnaðist illa í vínilskurði erlendis á sínum tíma.
3:  4 seinustu lög sveitarinnar sem hafa aldrei heyrst áður.

Öll lögin spruttu upp í Garðahreppi / Garðabæ á hinum gróskumiklu tímum í íslenskri tónlist 1981-1983.
Jonee Jonee hefur unnið að þessari “sagnfræði” í hjáverkum frá árunum 2017-2022 með dyggri aðstoð Halls Ingólfssonar í stúdíó Klaka.

English

Jonee Jonee was one of the freshest and innovative bands of the punk era in Iceland. The band had the distinction that the only instruments were drums, basses and voices.

The lyrics attracted so much attention that the newspapers of the time published a few of them.

In 2017 after the anniversary concert  of the documentary film “Rokk  in Reykjavík”,  the members decided to record from scratch  21 songs from their collection;

1:  8 of the band’s earliest songs that were never released.
2:  Remake and replay 9 songs  of Jonee Jonee’s LP album, “Svonatorrek” from 1982.
3: Finish 4 new songs, never recorded before!

All the songs originated during the prosperous times in Icelandic music scene 1981-1983.
Jonee Jonee recorded this history, from 2017-2022
The album contains 21 songs and is called “Annar Dagur” or “New Day”. These are new recordings, not remixes.
