The video is directed by Frosti Jón Runólfsson who captures Iceland in his own way and unlike people from outside have seen it. Frosti directed the Hjálmar documentary Hærra ég og þú and Sleep in Heavenly Peace that touches similar subjects as Jónsi’s new video. “Sumarið sem aldrei kom” is taken from Jónsi’s sophomore album Shiver which was released by Sigur Rós’ imprint Krunk and it is distributed by Smekkleysa in Iceland.
