Drýpur er fyrsta plata Bergþóru Kristbergsdóttur.

Hún á nokkuð óvenjulegan feril að baki í tónlistinni en eftir að hafa tekið sér áratugar langt hlé frá klarínettleik sneri hún aftur í hann 25 ára gömul.

Útskrifaðist svo með BA-gráðu í nýmiðlatónsmíðum frá Listaháskóla Íslands 2023.

Nálgun hennar við tónsmíðar er brennd marki yngri kynslóða, farið er yfir mörk og mæri kinnroðalaust og nútímatónlist, rafi og tilraunasprettum blandað saman eins og ekkert sé.

Solipsism is the 2015 debut album by contemporary Dutch pianist and composer, Joep Beving. Inspired by the philosophical idea that reality only exists in one’s mind, Beving composed these introspective and often filmic piano pieces and recorded them at home in the still of night. Rejecting the often over-produced and layered music styles of today, Beving keeps the music of Solipsism stripped back to it’s essence: simple sounds to express complex emotions. Pressed on EcoRecord, a sustainable record made from PET instead of PVC and, thanks to an innovative production process, saves up to 85% energy compared to conventional vinyl production, without compromising on sound and product quality.

Berlin, 6 March 2026. Alice Sara Ott’s latest Deutsche Grammophon album is out now, digitally, on CD and on vinyl (2 LPs). Jóhann Jóhannsson – Piano Works presents a collection of world premiere recordings of music by Jóhann Jóhannsson. The album follows on from the success of the two EPs (Film Themes and From Englabörn) issued in late 2025, featuring seven of the album’s tracks. Recorded in the late composer’s native Iceland, the 30-track album draws on an edition of solo piano transcriptions of his works recently published by Faber Music. These span the composer’s career, from studio albums such as Englabörn and Orphée to the pioneering scores he wrote for documentaries or feature films such as Copenhagen Dreams, Personal Effects and the Golden-Globe-winning The Theory of Everything.

Anna Sóley – Modern Age Ophelia LP

Modern Age Ophelia is the debut album by the Icelandic songwriter and vocalist Anna Sóley.
She combines words and music seeking inspiration from literature and life. The album
includes 11 songs written by Anna, except for Tíminn líður. The song’s original name is Kind
Folk, composed by Kenny Wheeler but Anna wrote lyrics to the melody in Icelandic. The
album is released via Smekkleysa (Bad Taste) and will be available on cd and streaming
platforms on 9 September 2022.

The album explores different styles, modern jazz, folk, pop, and groove styles mixed with
impressionistic lyrics, spoken word poetry, and improvisation. The line between reality and
fiction, sanity and insanity, can sometimes be blurry, and this work explores the beautiful
landscape of characters with the hope they have the freedom to grow and flourish on their
terms. The peculiar power of superstition and dreamlike reality is also a theme throughout
the songs.

The musicians who perform on the album are a collection of Iceland’s finest from the jazz
and pop scenes. Mikael Máni Ásmundsson on guitar, Magnús Jóhann Ragnarsson on piano
and Rhodes, Magnús Trygvason Eliassen on drums, Birgir Steinn Theodórsson on double
bass, Tumi Árnason on tenor saxophone, Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir on her own instrument
the Soundsculpture Hulda, Rakel Sigurðardóttir and Salóme Katrín Magnúsdóttir sing
backings and Siggi String Quartet plays on two of the tunes. The album was recorded at
Sundlaugin Studio. Birgir Jón Birgisson engineered, mixed, and mastered the album. The
artwork was created by Lilja María Ásmundsdóttir, layout by Ágúst Ævar Gunnarsson and
Kinnat Sóley. Valdís Thor took polaroid pictures of the band members, visible on the album
and in the booklet. The image on the album was inspired by a sketch Lilja made of Anna
while composing the first notes for the album, Modern Age Ophelia.
