Magnús Blöndal – Elektrónísk stúdía

Electronic study for wind quintet and piano was written in Reykjavík in
1959 and premiered at the second Musica Nova concert in Reykjavík, on
April 11 1960. It features alternating instruments and sine tones played
from a tape and arranged dodecaphonically into individual pitches. The
only electronic equipment to which the composer had access around
1960 were Telefunken 5 and M 10 tape recorders and the sine wave
generators at the NBS workshop.
