Esoteric Mass – for winds (multi-media chamber work for 16 wind instruments)
Esoteric Mass is a work for sixteen wind instruments, using both animated notation and regular notation.
Four performers stand in a circle and interpret animated notation projected on the floor at the centre of a space or as centrally as possible, while the remaining twelve performers are situated circularly on the perimeter of the space. The audience is positioned in between the two groups, preferably not sitting down and free to move about the space.
