Björg Brjánsdóttir & Bára Gísladóttir – GROWL POWER

Over the last years, Björg and Bára have enjoyed a most fruitful collaboration in writing and performing new music for the flute. In 2022, Bára wrote this group of four pieces, to be performed with or without electronics. The pieces are tributes to four different flutes:

GROWL POWER is written for the deep, resonant bass flute,
ever out after dark (or blue lady in a boring city) is written for alto flute and a blue lady,
GLÓÐ|STELPA is written for c flute (the title might be roughly translated to “intersection of embers and girl“),
and Stars with Shadows (on vast void and whatnot) is written for the piccolo flute.
