Includes an insert Labyrinthia is Icelandic act, Daníel Hjálmtýsson´s debut album. The album consists of ten original tracks performed and arranged by Hjálmtýsson, Hálfdán Árnason and Skúli Gíslason. The album is released in two very limited versions on vinyl by Reykjavik Record Shop. Being described as a mixture of rock, post-punk and neo-goth the album includes international guest performances by Aðalbjörn Tryggvason (Sólstafir), Aldo Struyf (Millionaire, Mark Lanegan Band), Elín Ey (Systur) and Frederic Lyenn Jacques (Dans Dans, Mark Lanegan Band). The late great Mark Lanegan then remarked „Daníel makes icy neo-goth which brings to mind the forbidding landscape of his native Iceland. I imagine him on a stage of a church-turned-dungeon somewhere in the Reykjavik underbelly“. The debut album has gotten great reception both at home and overseas with American radio icon KEXP hailing it as one of the most exciting records of 2022. The single, „No Reception“ has also topped the rock radio charts in both Iceland and Italy thus far.
